ZF’s D4 Switch Offers Reliable Solution For Today’s Appliances

D4 Switch

ZF Friedrichshafen AG’s D4 miniature snap action switch has been an industry standard for many years. Originally this style of switch became popular with appliance manufacturers, due to its small size and excellent current carrying capabilities.

The D4 series benefits from an increased tracking resistance of PTI 300, a high functional reliability, and excellent switching precision. Using application-specific contact materials for switching currents from 0.1A up to 21A at 250VAC, the switches offer superior contact reliability. Due to several available actuators and mounting points, the devices will prove suitable for many different applications.

ZF are pleased to confirm approval has recently been received for the NCKL2/8 UL certificate which applies to the D4 range. They are now certified as ignition protected against new refrigerants which are being used within domestic white goods including refrigerators, ice machines, heat pumps and air conditioning units.

Schmersal Launches the New PS Product Range of Position Switches

PS product range offers varied applications thanks to modular design

The Schmersal Group launches a new generation of position switches. The benefits for the user: The new PS product range offers varied applications, as all the position switches can be used both as complete devices and as modular units.

Type 1 position switches in line with ISO 14119 are for the position detection and monitoring of moving parts on machinery and plants as well as for lateral or pivotable protection equipment. The new range is suitable for a wide range of applications across all individual disciplines of machine and plant engineering – both for automation and safety applications and for lift engineering. The protection types IP66 or IP67 create the prerequisites for using the position switch in unfavourable environmental conditions.

Fewer variants – more flexibility

The modular design of the PS range with consistent components across all models reduces the number of variants, reduces storage costs and increases availability. All the position switches in the PS116, PS2xx and PS3xx ranges available within the modular system can be chosen both as complete switches with actuating element or as basic switches. Depending on the application, the basic switches can be combined with the necessary actuating element, which can be selected from a range of possible versions. This achieves the greatest possible flexibility in application and at the same time reduces the number of different switches available.

All actuating elements can be rotated in 45° increments, allowing adjustment to the defined direction of motion at any time. The connection terminals are also rotated around 45°, which makes connection easier and significantly reduces installation times. Switching elements with up to three contacts guarantee a redundant shutdown with an additional signal contact.

Honeywell Announces Product Upgrade to Micro Switch SZL-VL Series Limit Switch


Honeywell is pleased to announce an upgrade to the Micro Switch SZL-VL Series Limit Switch effective May 2017.

The new product features include the addition of positive opening contacts (side rotary version only), enhanced sealing level to IP67; NEMA 1, 12, 13, extended the temperature range, and added CCC certification.

The upgraded design includes modified seals, housing and a new design cable gland to improve seal performance. The housing design and mounting hole pattern remain the same. Any dimensional changes do not exceed more than 1mm.

These product enhancements will allow the potential for use in wide variety of applications as well as bring more value to our customers.

The upgrades to the SZL-VL Series require that we introduce new part numbers and obsolete the existing SZL-VL part numbers.

With robust environmental ratings, the SZL-VL-S is protected for all kinds of industrial applications. IP67 indicates that the SZL-VL-S is protected against the effect of immersion in water between 15 cm and 1 m. The competition standard is IP65 which can only withstand low pressure spray and jets of water. The electrical rating of 10 A permits the SZL-VL-S switch to be used with heavier electrical loads than competitors.

WBX Series

Honeywell’s Limitless™ WBX Series combines the best of Honeywell’s MICRO SWITCH™ Heavy Duty limit switches with a point-to-point (P2P) network. It has a variety of remote or built-in antenna options. Wireless-enabled limit switches can be used for position sensing and presence/absence detection for an endless number of applications.

The WBX Series is especially beneficial for remote monitoring applications where wiring or wire maintenance is not physically possible or economically feasible.
