Bulgin is pleased to announce the launch of a unique antimicrobial switches range as part of an exclusive partnership with BioCote Ltd, a leading provider of evidence-based antimicrobial technology. Bulgin’s best selling ranges of standard and miniature rocker switches, push button switches, double pole splash resistant switches and splash/dust covers will be manufactured with BioCote’s silver ion technology during the moulding process moulded to produce the world’s first antimicrobial electronic components. The antimicrobial ranges present OEMs with a distinctive new feature which offers a key point of end equipment differentiation and significantly enhances the benefits to the end user or the product.

Integrating BioCote® at the point of manufacture provides in-built antimicrobial protection for the life span of the component part, reducing microbes including bacteria mould and fungi by up to 99.9%. Bulgin’s switches are already sold into a wide range of industries including healthcare, laboratory science, education, catering, leisure and other ‘high traffic’ public places. “Bulgin’s switches are already used for a wide variety of ‘high traffic’ consumer and industrial devices. Our partnership with BioCote ensures the surfaces of Bulgin switches will help prevent the spread of microbes including viruses, mould and bacteria,” adds Mark Berry, Programme Product Line Manager, Bulgin. “We anticipate a strong reaction from our customers to these significant enhancements to our best selling ranges.” Five of Bulgin’s best selling switch ranges will utilise BioCote’s technology at manufacture stage, with further plans to roll out this process in time, as demand increases. All BioCote protected products are regularly validated and quality control tested to ISO 22196 where applicable, in an independent laboratory. Arcolectric's New Integral Guard and Protective Cover for Rocker Switches

Arcolectric now offer an integral moulded guard for its 1550 and 1350 range of double pole rocker switches. The guard is an extension of the rocker switch bezel on two sides and is designed to reduce the possibility of accidental switch operation.

This option can also be used with an additional hinged cover to provide even more protection against accidental operation of the switch. The cover is available in various colours to suit the switch body colour or transparent polycarbonate for use with illuminated switches, allowing visual confirmation of switch status without having to open the protective cover.

Switch Guard

These two new product variants are available for Arcolectric’s double pole 1550 and 1350 series, on all switching operations in the L style bodies, which fit into 30mm x 22mm panel cut-outs.

This simple addition to the switch body extends the useful application of this product into areas where security or safety of switch operation is of paramount importance.

The 1500 series of switches have ratings up to 16(4)A 250Vac with a wide choice of terminal options, alternative switching circuits including 3 position types with a variety of rocker switch profiles, body sizes and bezels. The 1350 is a high in-rush version rated at 150A to EN61058-1. Matching indicators are also available to complete the range.

Arcolectric's 8200 & 8300 Miniature Push Button Switches Have Higher Current Ratings.

Arcolectric’s 8200 & 8300 Miniature Push Button switch ranges now have higher current ratings. Both ranges have been re-assessed for ENEC approval to 12(12)A 250Vac at 105?C for 10,000 operations.

The extensive 8300 range is available with either illuminated or non-illuminated buttons, in single or double pole with momentary or latching switch action. There are options for various switching functions, terminal styles – including push on, solder and PCB terminals, along with options for actuators, body finish, colours and legend printing.

The 8200 range is sub panel mount with a choice of actuator types and terminal styles and orientation, these include push-on, solder and PCB terminals.

Both ranges have UL & CSA approval, as well as ENEC approval to the new higher current rating.

This higher inductive rating further extends the applications for these two families of switches into motor switching applications where the initial switching current can be far higher than a resistive load.

Arcolectric Slim Profile LED Holders, Types 1035, 1036, 1037

Arcolectric’s latest addition to its extensive range of Indicators are the new slim profile LED Holders.

With significantly smaller mounting hole sizes compared to the standard range of LED holders, these holders push fit to panel allowing quick and easy assembly.

The 1035 holders are suitable for use with T1 type LED’s (4.5mm) and the 1036 and 1037 for T1 3/4 type LED’s (6 and 6.35mm versions). Maximum panel thickness is 1.6mm.

The LED holders are available with bare LED leads or with wire termination, and can be supplied pre wired for 2, 6, 12, 24 or 28V dc and 125 or 250V ac. The LEDs are available in red, green, blue or yellow as standard, however dual colour options are available upon request. They can also be supplied without LEDs fitted.

This range of LED holders are ideal for use where panel size is at a premium or where a large quantity of LED’s are required to be densely mounted together.
