Schurter Re-Launches the V-Lock Power Cord by Expanding it's Standard Range with Hospital Grade Cordsets in White

December 21, 2012

Schurter Logo1.jpg

Schurter expands on its standard range of V-Lock power cords to include two types designed to ensure patient safety in critical medical and dental applications. The plug end of the cordset is stamped with a green dot, indicating that it meets the rigors of UL 817 testing. The solid pin construction and extra-safe wiring are visible through the plug’s transparent material.

The V-Lock system is an already proven design for safe and reliable power connections, protecting against accidental disconnection of the power cord from the equipment. The cord connector has a lever that latches into a notched power inlet. It is removed from the inlet when the lever is depressed and the catch mechanism released. The make-first and break-last design of the ground contact is inherent to itssafe design.

The detachable hospital grade power cords are offered with EN/IEC 60320 C13 and C19, 13 A and 15 A respectively, cord connectors on the equipment end, and NEMA 5-15 on the plug end. The power cord cable is white and measures 10 feet, or 3 meters, in length. The new power cords are compatible with a host of SCHURTER C14 and C20 style appliance couplers and power entry modules, including the most popular types used in medical applications.

US Power supply cord Hospital Grade white with C13 connector, 13 A: 6051.2121
US Power supply cord Hospital Grade white with C19 connector, 15 A: 6051.2131

Analysis and laboratory equipment, telecom and IT equipment, industrial robots, power outlet strips and equipment for audio and stage lighting are other typical applications where a pull-out protection with VLock IEC appliance couplers is suitable.

Schurter Expands DKFS Family of Common-mode SMD chokes

December 18, 2012

Schurter Logo1.jpg

Schurter is expanding its successful DKFS family of SMD chokes with a new horizontal version. With it, the use of very highperformance, compact chokes is possible in low-profile assemblies.

Modern electronic circuits require components with the highest performance in ever smaller profiles. The new horizontal DKFS chokes are ideally suited for this purpose. Compared to vertical models, they have higher inductance with the same rated current. Thanks to SMD leads, they can be assembled using the same reflow soldering process as other components. Possible application areas for these chokes include switch-mode power supplies, dc and stepping motor drives and frequency converters.

The rated voltage for DKFS devices is 250 VAC. These common-mode chokes are designed for temperatures of -40°C to +125°C. They will also continue to be available in vertical models as well as in the new horizontal design. The DKFS series meets the requirements of IEC/EN60938 and is UL1283 approved.

.

Technical features:
- Rated voltage 250 VAC
- Rated current 400 mA to 4 A
- Inductivity 0.7 to 39 mH
- SMD leads
- Attenuation of common-mode interference

Werma Introduces Series 728, 729 & 785 and Extends Their Range of Ex Signal Products

December 7, 2012

Werma Logo.jpg

New compact beacon family with impressive features
In recent years WERMA has continuously improved the range of Ex products on offer.  The latest addition is a completely new family of compact beacons.  The new 729 series offers permanent, flashing and rotating LED beacons, additionally available with the enhanced EVS flash version and also the 728 series with its classic xenon flash and finally the 785 with a mechanical rotating mirror beacon. Each of the new Beacons is designed and manufactured to the highest standards. Offering several innovative design solutions, the new range is now offered with a universal mounting bracket for ease of installation.

Increasing focus on explosion protection
The chemical and petrochemical industries as well as the mining have long been acutely sensitive to explosion risks, in recent times these dangers and risks have also become more widespread in the food and beverage, metalworking and woodworking industries where in particular explosion risk from airborne dust occurs.

Reliable signalling in gas, dust and low temperature environments
WERMA has been developing products with combined approval for use in both gas and dust applications for many years.  The new ex-proof beacon series 729, 728 and 785 are also approved for use in zones 1 and 21.  By ensuring effective explosion protection even at extreme temperatures down to as low as -50°C, the application possibilities with the new beacons has been significantly increased.
