Crydom (Solid State Relays) Solutions for Food Equipment

February 21, 2007

 clogo.jpg

Crydom Solid State Relays (SSRs) are widely used in the food equipment industry as replacement to mercury contactors and electromechanical relays because of their ability to work in harsh environments. Since there are no moving parts contact wear is eliminated and their semiconductor based design makes them environmentally safe to be used in most applications including; ovens, fryers, heaters broilers, food warmers and holding equipment, and coffee makers.

Their epoxy sealed design even allows use in moisture prone applications such as produce misting systems found in grocery stores. Using Random Turn-on type Crydom SSR’s provides the ability to vary the available power to resistance type heaters by using burst control and with the availability of the new Crydom MC series of Temperature Proportional and Burst control products, the solutions are even easier than before.

Bulgin 16mm Stainless Steel Pushbutton Switches

February 14, 2007

Bulgin_Logo_150px.gif

Bulgin is proud to announce two new ranges of pushbutton switches for industry standard 16mm diameter panel holes.

The first of the new range is a compact switch extending less than 21mm behind the panel. These single pole, momentary, push to make switches are rated at 2A, 48Vdc and are capable of 100,000 operations at full load and 1,000,000 mechanical operations. There are three button styles; flush, domed and prominent, and all switch variants have screw terminals. The MP0042 is manufactured in stainless steel with a polished finish. The MP0044 is manufactured in gold plated brass to give an extra touch of quality. These attractive switches will find themselves at home on panels and equipment where a robust and but aesthetically pleasing switch is needed.

The second range of 16mm stainless steel switches also have a polished stainless steel finish. They are slightly longer behind the panel but boast many more features. Rated at 3A, 250Vac and capable of 30,000 cycles at full load and 200,000 mechanical cycles, these switches are robust enough for manyFORMATION demanding applications. The MP0045 series have double pole switching with momentary or latching operation, and solder tag termination. The two styles of buttons, flush and protruding, are also available with dot and ring LED illumination. Standard illumination colours are amber, blue, green and red, and integral resistors allow operation from a 12Vdc or 250Vac supply.

The extensive list of variations for these switches will allow their use in many applications where an attractive but robust small diameter switch is required.

Extended Functionality and Choice of Time Ranges Enhance Finder's Multi-Voltage Timer Offering

February 2, 2007

Finder.jpg

Finder has announced an update to its 80 series timers, which now provide improvements in functionality, multiple supply voltages, a wide choice of time ranges and greater ease of use.

The 80 series timers find uses in applications that include process timing, material handling, access technology, and industrial equipment such as elevators, environmental, washing and shot blasting equipment. Additionally they are used by OEMS for functional timing in mobile, portable and battery powered equipment and testers.

In the latest version of the 80 series timers, the range and function selectors, the timing trimmer and the rail mounting clip have all been modified to accept either cross head or flat blade screwdrivers, allowing for easier setting and mounting. Snap-on marker tags are now mounted on the front of the timers, which can be sheet printed automatically for speed and clarity. The start signal can now also switch a separate load, giving the possibility of reducing the need for additional components

The time range scale can now be changed without the need to remove the power supply, allowing greater flexibility for timing adjustment without any disruption of the circuit.

The 80 series timers are housed in compact packages measuring only 17.5mm wide by 57mm high. All timers in the range are now multi-voltage, which means that fewer variants need to be stocked. The timers run from either 12V to 240V AC or DC – for the multi function and recycler versions – or 24V to 240V AC/DC for all other variants. The 12V to 240V type is suitable for use in battery-powered systems.
